Temporary Chilled Storage and Chilled Space

Occasions arise when additional chilled storage or chilled production space is required than is available, usually driven by seasonal production demands.

There will also be occasions when critical cooling or chilling equipment fails leaving perishable goods exposed to rising temperatures, or causing low temperature production processes to come to a standstill.

The solution to the first requirement is to convert an available empty enclosed space into a temporary chilled storage or chilled production area by installing a temporary cooling system within it. The solution to the second is temporary chilling or cooling system hire, to support the failed one.

In a nutshell, Coolmations temporary chilling system will comprise specially adapted air handling units installed within the space, connected with pre-insulated flexible hoses to a low temperature glycol chiller or chillers, located outside The system is completely automatic and controls in the same way as an installed one.

System components will include:

  • One or a multiple of small, medium or high capacity glycol chillers
  • The required number of air handling units or "chilled air blowers"
  • Quick connect pre-insulated flexible hose to interconnect the low temperature air handling units to the glycol chiller(s)
  • A food safe glycol fluid, either polypropylene or a vegetable extract one
